Treatment

Botox
Many are turning to Botox to reduce moderate to severe frown lines between their brows, forehead wrinkles and crow's feet. Simple and nonsurgical, the treatment is administered by a trained physician in patients ranging in age from 18 to 65. Botox decreases the movement of the muscles in these trouble areas, temporarily smoothing them for up to four months. Approved by the FDA in 2002, Botox consists of a few small injections of the purified protein into the muscles to temporarily reduce the lines. The procedure is minimally invasive, requires no recovery time and can be completed in about 10 minutes. Since results are temporary, many patients choose to begin a treatment schedule to maintain results. Although side effects are generally minimal, they can include temporary drooping of the eyelid, nausea, headache and respiratory infection.

Restylane
If you’re looking at improving the appearance of your skin, Restylane may be the option for you. Restylane is a dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid, which naturally exists in the body, that aids in correcting facial wrinkles. Widely used around the world, Restylane yields long-lasting results, normally up to six months. We use an extremely fine needle to inject small amounts of the filler into the skin, which aids in patient comfort throughout the procedure. The results are almost immediate! Free of animal proteins, Restylane is a safe and easy way to bring back your skin’s healthy and beautiful appearance. Restylane is now also used in lip augmentation to create fuller lips and a more defined mouth and in facial contouring to give your face a fuller look. As a natural dermal filler, Restylane requires no skin testing prior to treatment. And since the results are not permanent, this treatment allows you, the patient, to take control of your appearance.

Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair reduction is the latest advancement in laser technology and is an option that can be more permanent and less painful than other methods you find in local salons or over-the-counter. The laser energy targets the pigment in the hair and follicle, in turn, destroying the follicle to prevent hair growth in the future. Most people are eligible for laser hair reduction treatment with the most popular areas in women being the face, chin, arms, upper lip, legs and bikini areas. Men generally seek treatment for the back, chest, neck and areas where facial hair grows. During treatment, you will be asked to wear protective eyewear due to the laser light. The laser is passed over the chosen area and emits bursts of light energy. Many of our patients have described the feeling as a snapping of a rubber band, but the discomfort was very minimal. There is virtually no recovery time, and you may return to your activities as normal following treatment. You may, however, notice some slight swelling around the treated area, but this will disappear soon after treatment. We will be able to determine how many treatments are needed to achieve your desired results. Most patients require three or four treatments, performed at monthly intervals, to reach their satisfaction level.

Microdermabrasion
Our microdermabrasion system is especially for those with less than perfect skin. People with skin that has been damaged by the sun, age spots, acne or has a rough texture may benefit from our advanced system. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that offers no downtime following treatment! The treatment removes the uppermost layer of skin and removes dead skin cells to reveal a healthier appearance. The exfoliation helps to revitalize the skin and encourage blood flow. The length and number of treatments solely depends on each individual’s condition. We will consult with you on the treatment plan we feel will achieve your desired results. Ask us about our microdermabrasion system if you’re interested in improving the overall appearance of your skin.

Chemical Peels
There are various types of chemical facial peels that can aid in skin rejuvenation. We have licensed staff members who give facials and perform superficial peels (“weekend peels”). Superficial peels generally last 15-20 minutes after the chemical peeling agent (glycolic acid) is placed. The agent helps to resurface the upper layers of the skin to restore a more youthful, healthy look. We also perform medium depth peels (35% trichloracetic acid peel). A medium depth peel requires more healing days; however, it will also yield better results than with a superficial peel. Breaking through the deeper skin layers, medium depth peels are a popular option for skin rejuvenation. Our doctor can determine which chemical facial peel may be right for you.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a widely used nonsurgical procedure that eliminates spider and varicose veins. Using an ultrafine needle, we inject a sclerosing agent into the vein, which will cause them to dissolve and eventually disappear. Patients undergoing sclerotherapy generally experience very little discomfort and can return to work that same day. Often used as an alternative to surgery, sclerotherapy can reduce or eliminate spider and varicose veins in 1-6 treatments, depending upon the extent of the problem and patient compliance following the procedure. To help lessen the chance for bruising and to ensure the treated veins remain closed, we may have you wear heavy-duty support stockings for a short time after treatment. There is the possibility of recurrence of the veins if there is essentially a problem with the venous system.
